This once thriving and beautiful city has lost its energy and you can not be a part of energy that is not there.
Instead let us Revive, and bring this great city back to life.
Uniting the communities within Ward 8 to save 2 baseball diamonds form being destroyed
The community of Erlton coming together to bring unity between all ages to have a green thumb.
There is nothing positive about harm reduction.
My Goal as councillor is to revamp a new and better policy towards how Calgary approaches illicit drug use downtown.
The drug use that has been going on in this city needs to come to an end. The harm reduction policy that is currently in place is just not working. There are no positive effects to illegal substance abuse - only negative. We need to stop giving out the tools to continue the habits and start fixing the real issues causing the usage.
More Drop-In centres are not needed, we can not keep putting a bandaid on a problem, its time to get surgical.
They are people like you and I and a chance is all they ask for; its time to give them the hand up they deserve.
Currently, both adults and even minors (and some UNDER 14 years of age) may receive Naloxone kits anonymously at any registered pharmacy. ThAt the cost of taxpayers for these kits, which are being handed out by the dozens every single day. Instead, this money could go towards a bed/room at a treatment facility that has long term success.
Taxes have been rising higher and higher making living harder and harder.
I believe the BIA (Business Improvement Area Tax) should be discontinued. This tax enforces businesses to pay more taxes if their neighbouring business are flourishing, even theirs is not.
Calgary needs a property tax freeze. It is time to stop gouging the little guy, and use tax payers dollars more appropriately.
Tax payer money should not be sitting in slush funds collecting dust but to be used to better the communities of Calgary.
The time for accountability and transparency is now. The closed door meetings within the council meeting needs to be more available to the public and made easier to find on Calgary's website to view past meetings.
There should be live broadcasting episodes of the meeting that happen in City Hall.
The city needs to do a better job at notifying the public of what is actually happening instead of creating narrative to control us and use us for there selfish gain. Tis needs to be broadcasted throughout social medias on various platforms and on multiple web sites.
We as the public need to be more involved with what they are doing instead of allowing them to just do what they is in your best interest.
I want to actively participate in preserving the green spaces and parks within the communities of Ward 8.
It is essential that the youth and children have a safe place to be active and play. Our communities within Calgary, especially Ward 8, needs to keep their green spaces, if not add more. I do not support the redevelopment of Richmond Green Ball Diamonds.
In the preservation and safe keeping of the parks and green space, the government should not be allowed to remove current parks facilities that the constituents pay for and use. The City of Calgary has numerous vacant lots to use, but instead choose to remove important areas within our communities, and this needs to stop.
If not now, then when ?
If not me, then Who ?
If not here, then where ?
The time to act is now Calgary, and the place is Ward 8 and the one to who is for the people is Stefan Bleau
